Indonesia Investments

Indonesia Investments was founded in 2011 by Van der Schaar Investments B.V. in Delft, the Netherlands. Van der Schaar Investments (VDSI) is a privately held investment and development company (Ltd.) established in 2009 but stands in a tradition that goes back to the early 20th century.

In recent years VDSI has widened its horizon to Indonesia, Southeast Asia's largest economy and one of the most promising economies for the foreseeable future. As such, VDSI has started to monitor the country's economy, acquired expertise through assembling a group of Indonesia experts and built networks with the Indonesian government and businesses; hence Indonesia Investments was established.

In the years ahead, Indonesia Investments intends to bring together a broad basis of knowledge and information - the cornerstone to rely on for those who seek (opportunities) to invest in Indonesia; a country that we regard as having both a great future and a rich history.

A basis that is established by developing contacts with all layers of society: businesses, government, cultural institutions, the people as well as the forming of a well-balanced writers’ team which will contribute regularly, if not daily, to the contents of this website, covering all possible levels and matters.

Over the next period, a continuously expanding shortlist of Indonesian company files will be developed based on our research which includes interviews - conducted by our writers’ team - with the management of these companies. A particular company will be visited, analyzed and its data will be made available on the Business section of Indonesia-Investments. From this shortlist model portfolios will be compiled, of which the companies are selected based on specific criteria or themes that will be expounded in further detail at a later stage.
